Looking to frame it all

The Christmas trees are all sewn together with their trunks. I will sew a 3" finished white border around the whole thing. Then I need some kind of color border. Narrow or wide? Colors? How much print? Scrappy? Blocks? I bought backing- an angel panel and pine needle branches packed tight.

Ooh - decisions, decisions! Show us the backing angel print and pine needle branches packed tight - pretty please! How many "left-over strips" do you have? What are our choices? If you're going to add a 3" white border around the whole thing - you could add a wider "piano key" border - depending on how big you want it. Or you could cut the 3" border down to the same width as the strips you used in the blocks - then add the "piano key" border. Soooooo many options - it's fun to watch you play - LOL - ;))

I think if the packed pine needles plays well with the front, it would make a nice border. Optionally a golden yellow border would be nice.

Love the mix of colours Linda. How about a peek of the backing panel fabrics? I find choosing sashing and borders time consuming, sometimes I find a suitable fabric leaps out straight away but that seems to not be too often for me. Good luck with the choosing.

If you were closer, you could go thru my Christmas fabric bin and find something for the border.
