Some Pumpkin Fun amid Blogger Confusion

I finally reached the end of the line and Blogger is forcing me to use the new one. Not happy and have no idea how this post will turn out. Any other better alternatives out there? Things aren't stressful enough? Hmm? Why is it putting extra spaces between paragraphs, how can I save the post as a draft? Can you no longer write multiple posts at a time and decide when they will go out? Is there a decent help file anywhere?

I needed to work on something fun, so I grabbed my Bonnie Hunter String Frenzy book and  made some of the pumpkins. I don't do table runners because the cat of the house thinks it means permission to sit on the dining table which is not allowed. I made 8 of the pumpkins and played with four of them as a center block and then added borders around. I love many kinds of greys, so I used all different ones for the backgrounds.

I found some yellow and orange shaded fabric that I could use with some postage marked black and made strip sets for the next border- 1 1/2" strips that finish at 1". Then I added a bright green batik that had some interesting marks on it and then a gray that I had been saving as a fun outer border. I don't think it will get quilted by the 31st, so it is just on my design wall now.

Now, I still have to do something with the other 4 pumpkins or make more of them for the whole quilt in the book. I did buy Bonnie's Applachian Autumn pattern and was thinking of doing the string piecing on that.

This turned out too cute! You could do placemats with the other four blocks, or or stack them up for a longer door banner.
Blogger issues....you have to search for the save thingy. Click the down arrow next to the preview and the save option shows. I am sure you can write posts ahead and delay publish somehow, but I haven't even looked at that. Getting pictures loaded is hard enough. I heard it works better for mobile devises than for PCs. What a joke. Ihaven't looked at other platforms.

To the right in the header bar there is a question mark (near your avatar). There are any number of helpful topics there - your post looks good. Things are in a different place and some are named differently or have different icons but the functionality is still there. Sorry you are now under pressure to use the new one without the long testing period they offered - I resisted and went back and forth for a while and then dove in head first and went for it. Now I have very few problems. And yes, you can write multiple posts ahead and schedule them, just like before. LOVE your pumpkins!!!!!

As a blogger I feel your pain! I use Wordpress and they just did a major “upgrade.” For $300 I could go back to the previous format, but only for two years. I find the new so limiting. I’ll push on as best I can and try to not get too stressed about it. Your blog does look good and I love your pumpkins!

I agree with Debbie - you could make place mats with your extra pumpkins. Blogger - extra spaces between paragraphs - check the top line - set "paragraph" to "normal" and see if it makes a difference. Save a draft - click next to "preview" - and the "save" option is there. Multiple posts - yes - each post can be "scheduled" just like before - but it's harder to find - on the right side - click the "up arrow" next to "labels" to close the drop-down thingy - under that is "published on" - click on that - you'll see the calendar - click on the date you want - to the right of that is the time - click on that and the drop down box should appear. The new Bl*gger is a "pain" and "clunky" at best - and nobody likes it - but they don't give us much choice - ;))

Love your Autumn post with the pretty pumpkins and I can see nothing amiss with the setting of the photos etc. I went back and forth for a few weeks myself with the old and the new and one day they had just switched me over so I had no choice.

Cute pumpkins. So far, I've been able to figure out the new blogger. Not sure about how to schedule a post yet.
