ADK in the fall

We were able to stay at a teeny cottage in the Adirondacks (ADK) in Old Forge, NY for 4 nights and take 2 grandkids. The weather was chilly, but sunny. It was grand. It was less than half peak, this week is peak.
I think I would live up there but for the distance to get medical care and supplies. I love to visit and drink in the scenery. I took my sketchbooks and was able to do a little work. With the photographs and sketches, hopefully paintings will follow.

You have a nice variety of inspiration images from your trip. You should be able to get at least a couple of paintings from those inspirations.

And we all know that try as we may, even the most excellent photographs cannot capture the vast scale of Mother Nature’s grandeur … you have some gorgeous images to paint from! Have fun!

Breathtaking! I love the rich fall colors. I'm so glad that you got to get away from the daily tasks for a 4 day trip!!! I can't wait to see a glimpse of your paintings. You have such an eye for color. :)

What a stunning place to spend a few days!! It looks very peaceful and the colour change in the trees is beautiful. I have a friend who always wanted to go on holiday in the US and see the fall colours, she loved it!
