I don't get why some people don't chat, especially shop keepers. Glad you had a nice trip otherwise.
I worked in two different quilt shops at different times, both actual owners were "Chatty Cathy" types (which actually drove me a bit bonkers because they never stopped talking, especially the one who talked non-stop about all her other customers and not always in a friendly manner). Some of the other workers were introverts like me who didn't like small talk and found it easier to work without talking. It takes all kinds I guess.
That is totally weird. Most of the shops I have been to, the sales person is friendly and talkative. If their prices are very good or they are the only shop in town, maybe they feel like talking to the customers is not necessary.
Lovely fabrics! It's odd that the owners aren't talkative. My favorite fabric store was on my way home from work - and I would stop in two or three times a week to "browse" - my version of "stress relief". I knew the night staff and they always greeted me by name when I walked in. You know you're in trouble when the staff knows your name - LOL - ;))
You purchased a lovely selection of fabrics, Linda. OMG!!! That water ombre' is gorgeous! Do the shop do mail order?
Pretty fabrics! I especially like the batiks. I am an introvert too, and maybe they don't feel like they have anything important enough to say.
Love that ombre fabric. So pretty. You can always send me a note to chat:)
You certainly did gather a lot of fabric to add to your stash! The strange manner of the shop folk would definitely be very unsettling.
Oh that is frustrating - but at least you tried to get them conversating!! Love all the cool fabrics!
