June's bustin' out!

Even though it has been rainy and cool, the tree Peonies don't care. My pink one starts out dark and gets paler. I have had it for a number of years and it is getting much bigger. The new one in the back was planted last year because the garage addition pulverized the magenta one. It had loads of blooms for such a little plant.
I woild love to make a quilt with these large blooms, but I have an extreme dislike for raw edge. Not sure I could pull off the piecing or turned edge applique to accomplish this.
Just going to open
Here they come

Those are absolutely beautiful! I love the red one.
How about the applique using interfacing to turn under the edges and then stitch down by hand or machine?

Oh Linda do try an applique quilt! These paeonies of yours are glorious and would be stunning. As an alternative to needle turn applique it's possible to use raw edge applique. I used the fusible method for my teapots then blanket stitched by machine, I realise this wouldn't work for paeony petals but you use a simple straight machine stitch.

These are so beautiful! I like the pink ones the best. Raw edge is fun - just make a wall quilt so you don't have to worry about washing it often.
