The weather has been very wet. And cold. And I think we only had 2 dry days in a row for over a month. The trees are very slow to leaf out. I know many areas of the country have way more wet weather, but the grayness gets to you. Thankfully, the tulips have come up and opened. The cool weather has them hang around a bit longer. There is a limited blue sky time to photo them before the gray rolls in again.
Tulips are my favorite flower, but in big groups. I buy mine from White Flower Farm and get the assorted Darwin perennials. My husband makes little cages of hardware cloth for the bulbs to foil the squirrels. So, if you need a dose of spring, follow below.

Thanks, Linda - those are SO pretty!! We're into our "May Gray" weather here now - soon to become "June Gloom" - so some pretty flowers are a welcome sight - ;))
Linda, your tulips are so beautiful! I especially love the orange/yellow ones. I don't have any tulips in my garden ( Ummm---I wonder why?), but I do think they look very pretty.
You think you have a lot of rain--well girl let me tell you about ours. It rained here from October to March almost every day. At least the biggest part of the week. We had so much there wasn't any where for the water to go. The lakes were full, the creeks were running over and the ground was so wet, the trees were falling. It was really a dark, gray and miserable time. But we did not get even one single flake of snow. I was so happy when the sun finally came out to stay. We have been having some really nice weather lately so I hope it is here to stay.
What a stunning display of tulips, we're now in Autumn so this definitely a cheering sight!
Fabulous colorful beds! I haven't seen a sight like these in quite a while. Our spring has now turned warm....with some days in the 80s. But I fully understand how the gray days can overwhelm you and push you down.
It's been so wet here that the farmer's can't plant. The fields are full of standing water. Sunshine (for the moment) this morning, but cold temps, and a frost warning for tomorrow morning.
Beautiful tulips. I had never heard of wrapping the bulbs so the squirrels can't steal them.
Like Wanda, I'm intrigued by the wire protection. BEAUTIFUL blooms!
