Landscape Collage class accomplished

With over 23 people in attendance on a dark, damp January evening, we did our landscape collage workshop. It took about an hour to set up- the projector and supplies and all. I had to stop them at 9- we started at 7- and they were shocked at how fast it went. Some people were not happy because it did not look like the photograph. It is not supposed to- you already have a photo. The camera and projector worked well and everyone could see us work in detail from their seats. My finished one is here- but I am going to add more details and thread work to it yet.

Nice landscape. Way out of my realm. I need to learn (practice) thread painting one day, if I ever want to do something like that.

Beautiful! Yes, some thread painted details will fill it all in nicely. the prep for this takes lots of time but the project really goes together quickly. I agree who needs another "photo" :)

The batiks gave so much depth to this work. Wow! I'm sure everyone wanted a project that went faster than it did, but there's so much value in one that takes more time. I think the pauses give us time to evaluate the process and product, and those lulls are actually where we learn the most. Just curious to ask, are you adding another class to add detail and finishing?

What a lovely start. Well chosen fabrics for picture and reflections, the grassy area in the foreground. I'm sure everyone had a great time.

Great landscape collage, beautiful depth and you have the water just right, I'm looking forward to seeing the thread work eventually.
