Border and done or piece more

I added the stop border on the kaleidoscope quilt and like the way it looks. I showed this to a good friend and quilter and she suggested I add large triangles around the quilt of middle colors and piece them into the borders. I wonder how much more work I should put in this quilt. I am thinking I should add the borders and move on. But she said to do a sample and see. Haven't got the motivation up yet.

If it were me I would keep the borders simple - just choose the fabric and add. There is such a wonderful riot of colour and movement in the quilt it truly doesn't need more, just my thoughts.

I would be just putting on the tree rings border and calling it done. I think you want people looking at the center pieced portion. Maybe your friend's vision would work but it sounds busy to me.

Love the fabric you are auditioning for the border, but I honestly don't think it even needs that unless you want to make the quilt a little bigger. It is beautiful and fun to look at!

Simple works for me :)

No triangles needed - I would go with that wonderful border fabric.

Linda,
Your quilt looks stunning! I am reading your post and the first line reads - "like the way it looks" I would encourage you to listen to your own voice. I agree with the readers - unless you are trying to make it big, there is no need for a border. You do want your eyes to go in etc. Sometimes with scrappy quilts, you have to stand back and see it, take your time to make that final decision. When I see this picture, I see a gorgeous quilt, well balanced with colors and textures. Bravo!
